The site is currently occupied by a two-storey office building and a car park owned by Baxter Healthcare.
The site is well defined by mature vegetation and a treelined boundary, sitting adjacent to existing homes to the east, south, and west.
The site is located within the village boundary North Wessex Downs National Landscape and lies immediately adjacent to the Compton Conservation Area.
The site is within easy walking distance of local existing amenities.
The site is largely vacated as Baxter Healthcare have moved their operations elsewhere.
The site has been actively marketed for alternative employment uses, but has not generated any interest. The scheme presents an opportunity to prevent the site from becoming underutilised and a potential blight on the village if left vacant for long term.
Intrusive ground investigations have been undertaken and no contamination has been identified.
